It was an incredible privilege for Gulfsands to sponsor a private reception last week organised by the trustees of The Chaffinch Trust, in the presence of Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal who generously gave her time and shared her insights.

The reception, held at the iconic Reform Club, showcased the remarkable accomplishments of The Chaffinch Trust and its unwavering commitment to making a positive impact to the lives of those in need. The Trust runs projects ranging from empowerment programmes in Gambia, Ghana and Scotland to educational initiatives in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, in addition to its support of Project Hope. Gulfsands is honoured to be a long standing champion of this amazing organisation and its work.

In her address, the Patron of The Chaffinch Trust, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, reiterated the importance of collaboration and cooperation amongst organisations that work to support and encourage those facing challenges due to poverty or lack of opportunity.

In this spirit, we, together with Phoenix Space and The Chaffinch Trust, are working to deliver life-changing STEM education and upskilling programs to young Syrian refugees and disadvantaged locals in Jordan and the region.

In addition, with support of the Trust, we continue to pioneer Project Hope, the humanitarian and economic stimulus initiative, which seeks to unlock access to Syria’s natural resources to finance humanitarian and economic development projects for the benefit of all Syrian people. We believe that Project Hope has the potential to provide much needed sustainable financing for early recovery programmes, including but not limited to health, education,  environmental, employment and security projects across the whole of Syria.

It was a pleasure to discuss the remarkable achievements of the Trust, and Project Hope with its partners and a host of senior diplomats and ambassadors from across the Middle East and Türkiye as well as esteemed community leaders, philanthropists, INGOs and supporters of the Trust.

A special thanks to the Trusts Chairman Ben Goss OBE MVO and the Trustees of Chaffinch Trust for organising such a special event.
