Job Summary

The Human Resources Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department in Gulfsands Petroleum Levant LTD (GPLL). The role manages recruitment administration, onboarding, employee records, payroll preparation, HR reporting, organizational charts, employment contracts, and compliance with company policies and labor legislation. The HR Officer ensures efficient HR processes while maintaining confidentiality and providing high-quality support to employees and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Selection
  • Screen and evaluate CVs against job requirements.
  • Prepare candidate shortlists for hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interviews and assessments.
  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates.
  • Conduct reference and background checks where applicable.
  • Prepare recruitment reports and maintain recruitment trackers.
  • Support onboarding and induction activities for new employees.

  • Employment Administration
  • Prepare employment contracts, contract amendments, and other employment-related documentation.
  • Process new hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain personnel files and employee records.
  • Ensure all employee documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Monitor contract expiry dates and probation periods.

  • Payroll & Benefits
  • Prepare monthly payroll inputs.
  • Verify payroll data for accuracy before processing.
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely salary payments.
  • Support administration of employee benefits, insurance, and social security.
  • Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries.

  • HR Information & Reporting
  • Maintain and update the Human Resources database
  • Prepare regular HR reports and workforce statistics.
  • Maintain and update the organizational chart.
  • Monitor headcount and vacancy reports.
  • Prepare employment letters and contracts.

  • Employee Relations
  • Respond to employee HR-related inquiries.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues in accordance with company policies.
  • Support performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Assist in employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.

  • Policies & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and Syrian labor laws.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  • Support internal and external HR audits.

  • Training & Development
  • Coordinate training logistics.
  • Maintain training records and employee development plans.

  • General HR Support
  • Support workforce planning activities.
  • Perform other HR duties assigned by the HR Manager.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in recruitment, payroll administration, and employee records.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Syrian labor law and HR best practices.
  • Oil & Gas experience is essential.
