Syria Field Visit July 2026

Last week, it was a privilege to accompany the President and CEO of @Syria Petroleum Company Eng. @Yousef Qiblawi, on a major milestone visit to our Block 26 fields, in the North-East of Syria. This gave us the opportunity to see our operations first hand and to speak with our onsite team from Dijla Petroleum Company, our Joint Operating Company.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for us to review the significant progress being made since @Gulfsands became the first International Energy Company to lift its Force Majeure and return to operations in Syria. Together, we discussed our Block 26 investment programme and the Field Development Plan, focusing on the creation of local employment and training opportunities including skilled jobs, as well as our societal responsibilities to the local communities. We discussed important HSSE matters as well as production optimisation, rehabilitation of existing infrastructure and the application of new technologies which will all help realise the long-term potential of this world-class asset. We were also accompanied on the visit by Gulfsands’ senior advisor @Sir Alan Duncan.

Our partnership with SPC is founded on collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to responsibly develop Syria’s energy resources. We are proud to be working together with SPC to increase production, create long-term value, and support the recovery of Syria’s oil and gas sector.

and operational activity that is now underway in the Yousefieh and Khurbet East fields.

It also shows the collaboration between @Gulfsands and @Syria Petroleum Company as we advance our Field Development Plan and @Gulfsands prepares for its extensive investment programme.

It was a pleasure to spend time onsite with SPC President and CEO Eng. @Yousef Qiblawi, discussing our shared commitment to increasing production, investing in the field, supporting the local communities and the responsible development of Syria’s energy sector.
