Gulfsands Petroleum Plc (“Gulfsands” or the “Company”), the AIM listed oil and gas exploration company (AIM:GPX) with activities in Syria, Morocco, Tunisia and Colombia, provides the following update on the Extension of Open Offer Closing Date, which is also available on the Company’s website, www.gulfsands.com.

Extension of Open Offer Closing Date

Further to its announcement on 16 December 2015 regarding the publication of the Open Offer Prospectus, Gulfsands Petroleum Plc (“Gulfsands” or the “Company”) announces that it will extend the latest time and date for receipt of completed Application Forms and payment in full under the Open Offer, or settlement of relevant CREST instructions (as appropriate), from 11.00 a.m. on 5 January 2016 to 11.00 a.m. on 12 January 2016 in order to give Shareholders who have not yet applied for Open Offer Shares the opportunity to do so. The revised timetable of principal events is detailed below.

In accordance with section 87G of FSMA and paragraph 3.4 of the Prospectus Rules, following the decision by the Company to extend the Open Offer timetable it intends to publish a supplementary prospectus which will be posted to Shareholders in due course, which will be announced separately via a Regulatory Information Service.

Capitalised terms in this announcement are as defined in the Prospectus unless the context otherwise requires.

Revised Timetable of Principal Events:

  • Recommended latest time for requesting withdrawal of Open Offer Entitlements from CREST – 4.30 p.m. on 6 January 2016
  • Latest time for depositing Open Offer Entitlements into CREST – 3.00 p.m. on 7 January 2016
  • Latest time and date for splitting of Application Forms – 3.00 p.m. on 8 January 2016
  • Latest time and date for receipt of completed Application Forms, and payment in full under the Open Offer or settlement of relevant CREST instructions (as appropriate) – 11.00 a.m. on 12 January 2016
  • Admission effective and trading expected to commence in the Open Offer Shares – 8.00 a.m. on 14 January 2016
  • CREST members accounts credited in respect of Open Offer Shares in uncertificated form – As soon as possible after 8.00 a.m. on 14 January 2016
  • Share certificates in respect of Open Offer Shares expected to be dispatched by no later than – 21 January 2016
  • Open Offer Long Stop Date – 31 January 2016
