Phoenix Space is proud to announce the launch of an innovative upskilling program generously funded by Gulfsands. The program is implemented in collaboration with Blumont within the Uplift project funded by UNHCR- the UN Refugee Agency, and Datacamp Donates. This course aims to empower Syrian refugee youth aged 18-35 in Zaatari Refugee Camp, Jordan, by equipping them with essential Al Business skills

Addressing a Global Crisis:

The last decade has seen a disturbing rise in global displacement, with projections indicating that by May 2024, around 120 million people were forcibly displaced. The UNHCR estimates that this number could reach 130.8 million by the end of the year.

In its 13th year, the Syrian crisis remains one of the largest in the world in terms of displacement. There are currently 12 million people forcibly displaced. Among them, 6.8 million are internally displaced in Syria, while Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey host close to 5.2 million Syrian refugees. This humanitarian crisis puts millions of Syrian youths’ education and future prospects at risk.

The international community must unite and provide sustainable solutions that equip displaced Syrian youth with the tools and resources necessary to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

Introducing the Al Business Fundamentals Program:

In response to this urgent need, Phoenix Space, funded by Gulfsands has launched the Al Business Fundamentals Program. This initiative seeks to build sustainable pathways for displaced youth to gain the skills and competencies to reclaim their futures and move beyond displacement. Through our partnership with DataCamp Donates, our beneficiaries gain access to comprehensive courses on the latest technologies that fall in line with the most in-demand skills needed to capitalise on the opportunities amidst the digital revolution.

The skills acquired through this program are directly applicable to various global industries, including technology, healthcare, finance and more. By enhancing their employability, participants can access higher-paying jobs, achieve economic independence, and integrate more effectively into their host communities. Ultimately, this course paves the way for a brighter future beyond displacement.

The Al Fundamentals Program goes beyond technical skills, it fosters critical thinking, problemsolving abilities and innovation- qualities highly sought after in today’s competitive job market. By investing in the education of these young individuals, we aim to instil motivation, hope and a sense of individual empowerment, enabling them to reclaim a sense of agency over their futures.
