Gulfsands Managing Partner John Bell had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Yousef Qablawi, the CEO of the newly formed Syrian Petroleum Company last week in Damascus.

The discussion centered on the current state and future outlook of Syria’s Energy sector — a vital pillar of the national economy. Mr. Qablawi kindly outlined the Syria’s vision for the future of the Energy sector in Syria, emphasising the importance of collaboration with leading international partners in exploration and development of the country’s natural resources. He also highlighted the continued role of Gulfsands, given our strong technical expertise and well-established presence in the country. Gulfsands reaffrimed its commitment and readiness to provide both technical, operational and investment support, leveraging our team’s extensive experience in the Syrian Oil & Gas sector, including the comprehensive re-entry planning and studies we have undertaken in anticipation of resuming operations on our Block 26.
