Gulfsands Managing Director, John Bell, was pleased to speak with MEES correspondent, Yesar Al-Maleki, who has penned an excellent piece in last week’s addition of MEES regarding the impact of the fall of Assad on Syria and on regional dynamics.

John spoke about how Syria’s oil and gas industry is a critical sector that can provide significant revenue to fund early recovery, reconstruction, and the humanitarian needs of the Syrian people. As such, we believe it can be a key element of the peace-building process within Syria.

He also stressed that the Production Sharing Contracts (“PSCs”) that Gulfsands and other international energy companies have, are sovereign agreements and we expect that these will be respected and honoured by the incoming government.
