Strengthening Economic Cooperation Between Syria and the United Kingdom

Gulfsands Managing Director John Bell along with Sir Alan Duncan was invited to a senior meeting in the British Foreign Office with His Majesty’s Government and the new Syrian Foreign Minister, His Excellency Asaad al-Shaibani, to discuss how the UK can further invest in and support Syria.

During his official visit to London, Minister al-Shaibani met with British business leaders and investors to explore opportunities for expanding economic and investment ties between Syria and the UK. The discussions focused on potential partnerships that would contribute to Syria’s development and highlighted the Syrian government’s commitment to fostering a favorable environment for foreign investment.

This dialogue marks an encouraging step toward rebuilding bridges, promoting mutual growth, and enabling the private sector to play a meaningful role in Syria’s long-term economic recovery.
